Announcing the Nucleate Summit to unify the world’s largest biotech student community
Nucleate, the nonprofit organization led by academic trainees and dedicated to empowering the next generation of biotech leaders, today announced the inaugural Nucleate Summit for its global life sciences community.
The Summit will be hosted in Boston, Massachusetts on August 29–30. The two-day celebration will harness the potential of the Nucleate network from around the world, comprising thousands of volunteers, founders, and investors. “Our Summit will bring together our community of extraordinary students with the greater biotech ecosystem.” said Geraldine Ezeka, Nucleate’s EVP of Culture and the Summit Director. “They represent the future leaders of the biotech industry, and we’re thrilled to unite them in person this summer.”
The Summit announcement follows the conclusion of Nucleate’s free Activator, which supported early-stage biotech ventures from coast to coast. The program sourced 77 venture teams from university labs to join its personalized life sciences curriculum. Participants formed teams, refined venture theses, and gained a powerful network of mentors, free perks, and millions in direct funding from the John Maraganore Prize (sponsored by Alnylam), Petri Prize, and the extended Nucleate investor network.
“Nucleate changed our lives,” said Deepti Singh, research fellow at Harvard Medical School and co-founder and CSO at InGel Therapeutics, the winner of the Boston chapter. “The knowledge we have gained in these few months is unbelievable. InGel Therapeutics would not exist today without Nucleate.”
Uniting biotech leaders
The Leadership Summit (Day 1) includes shared experiences that will strengthen bonds among Nucleate leadership, alumni, special guests, and sponsors. It will also invite participants to explore the city of Boston and its advanced biotech ecosystem. Here, the action will be off-stage: attendees will form deep connections with biotech leaders and Nucleate’s partners.
The Community Summit (Day 2) includes premier networking opportunities, inspirational speakers, and the Activator Pitch Showcase, featuring recent winners from the 9 Nucleate regions. Many other teams from the Activator 2022 cohort will attend; they are building on $9 million in funding raised in just the past few weeks.
“We are honored to partner with Nucleate to empower biotech leaders and fund the earliest stage of their startup journeys,” said Tony Kulesa, Principal at Pillar VC and co-founder of biotech incubator Petri. “Nucleate has cultivated a remarkable group of student leaders. I look forward to attending the Summit and forging new connections within Nucleate’s community.”
“Our life sciences network is the largest of its kind in the world,” said Oliver Dodd, co-president of Nucleate. “Our Summit will be the place to recruit talent, identify early-stage investment opportunities, and connect with the biotech leaders of tomorrow.”
Nucleate is made possible by generous support from the life sciences ecosystem. To support the Summit, interested partners are welcome to email summit@nucleate.xyz.
