Nucleate, the nonprofit organization led by academic trainees and dedicated to empowering future biotech leaders, announced 79 venture teams in the first national cycle of its Activator program. The announcement follows Nucleate’s recent launch in 10 biotech hubs across the United States.

Participating teams will now refine their scientific breakthroughs into biotech venture theses and train under Nucleate’s unparalleled network, rigorous curriculum, funded fellowships, legal support, and highly subsidized perks. Following a successful team formation period, they join the ranks of past Activator teams, including Manifold Bio ’19, Concerto Bio ’19, Glyphic Biotechnologies ’21, and Ivu Biologics ‘21.

The scientific leads of the 2022 Activator teams aim to address human diseases, food scarcity, and the climate crisis using their own inventions and discoveries. Learn more about this cohort’s teams, whose members span laboratories, business schools, and hospitals from coast to coast.

Nucleate invites life science founders, executives, investors, and scientists interested in assisting Activator teams as a team mentor or workshop expert to complete a short registration form.

“We are dedicated to making biotech accessible to all, not just a privileged few,” said Soufiane Aboulhouda, founding president and chairman of Nucleate. “The ideas that emerge from this year’s inaugural cohort have transformative potential, but the most enduring impact of our efforts will be the open, diverse, brilliant Nucleate community we are honored to cultivate. We believe that educating trainees today will unlock a new generation of biotech leaders tomorrow.”
